Shatner: No One Understands Success of 'Star Trek'

Clipped from the Macon Herald on Christmas Eve of 1979, this article shows that Shatner doesn't understand Trek's success. Fans could rattle off any number of reasons. God bless his little heart, Bill has been clueless about the whole thing for years, but we still love him.

The fans recognized right away the problems with the film, even as they reveled in the effects and the success of the movie. It would be nearly 25 years before a re-edited and completed version was released, and it was a much better film for it. Oh, and ignore the snarky comment about Spock's ears, they looked fine. I'm betting that person was just dragged into the theater by someone else anxious to see it.
